Getting here from Castle Donington
West along the A50 and off at Swarkestone, or the back way through Weston on Trent. Around ten to twelve minutes. If you know the run to the circuit, you already know the roads.
We're the workshop down the road from the circuit
MacG Racing has operated ten minutes from Donington Park since 2010, and a good part of our week is race and track car work: builds, engine and transmission rebuilds, setup, and running cars at endurance events.
That matters for a road car remap in a specific way. We are used to engines being asked for everything they have, and to the consequences when something in the chain isn't up to it. Torque limits, clutch capacity, what a gearbox will take. Those are not abstract considerations here; they are the reason we check a car properly before we write anything to it.
If you're a track day regular or you race locally, that's a conversation we can have properly rather than nodding through.
And the other Castle Donington: shift mileage
The airport and the distribution parks around it mean a lot of local drivers are doing odd-hours mileage in diesels, often on the same stretch of road twice a day. That is the profile an economy map suits best, and it's a common conversation from this postcode.
What we do
Stage 1 remapping, performance and economy maps, diesel remapping, and van and fleet work. Software only. We don't remove DPFs, EGR valves or AdBlue systems, because that makes a car illegal to use on the road.
My car's already modified. Is that a problem?
No. Intake, exhaust, intercooler, hybrid turbo, or a map somebody else wrote. Building and modifying cars is what this workshop does the rest of the week. Tell us what's been done when you get in touch, and bring any paperwork you have.
