Fuel is the argument
A van doing 25,000 miles a year at 30mpg burns a serious amount of diesel. A few percent off that is real money, every year, per vehicle. Multiply it across a handful of vans and the maths gets straightforward.
The saving works the same way as it does on a car. More torque low down means less throttle to hold a speed, fewer gear changes, and less kicking down under load. On a vehicle that's heavy and working hard all day, that matters more than it does on an empty hatchback.
Tell us your mileage and current consumption and we'll give you a realistic annual figure rather than a percentage.
And it drives better loaded
Vans are mapped from the factory to cope with being empty or full, cold or hot, driven gently or hammered by whoever's on shift. That compromise shows most when the van is loaded.
After a remap: pulls away with a full load without slipping the clutch, holds motorway speed up a gradient, tows without labouring, and stops feeling like it's out of ideas at 60. Drivers notice it within a mile, which matters if you're trying to keep them happy.
One van or a fleet
-
Single vehicle. Same process as a car. Bring it to Barrow upon Trent, back to you the same day.
-
Several vehicles. We'll work around your schedule rather than yours working around ours, including staggering them so you're never short.
-
Out of hours. Speak to us about early, late or weekend slots, and we will always do our best to accomodate.
-
Original files kept for every vehicle. Useful at lease end or resale, when you may want them back to standard.
Vans we work on
Transit and Transit Custom, Mercedes Sprinter and Vito, VW Transporter and Crafter, Vauxhall Vivaro and Movano, Renault Trafic and Master, Peugeot and Citroën, Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, VW Amarok, Isuzu D-Max. If it isn't listed, ask.
Leased or on finance?
Worth checking your agreement, because some lease contracts restrict modifications. We keep the original file for every vehicle we map, so it can go back to standard before the vehicle is handed back. Same applies to insurance: a remap is a declarable modification on a commercial policy just as it is on a car, so tell your insurer or broker.
Emissions equipment stays where it is
DPF, EGR and AdBlue systems are frequently offered up for deletion on commercial vehicles. We don't do it. It makes the vehicle illegal to use, fails an MOT, and on a fleet it's a liability sitting on your books. A remap with everything in place is the version that stands up to scrutiny.
Get the numbers for your vehicles
Send us the regs, your annual mileage and what you're currently getting to the gallon. We'll come back with the gains, a price per vehicle, and an honest view of what you'd save over a year.
